About me
From a young age I have been captivated by film making and video games, working on my own Arma 3 cinematics to creating stop motion videos.
I studied Digital Media and Interactive Design at Edinburgh Napier University where I studied Film, Video game development, Audio and Animation. In my final 2 years of University I focused on cinematics, bringing together film making and Video games. I finished my studies with a 1:1 and had dedicated my honours project to creating cinematics in Unreal Engine.
After University I secured my first job in the industry at Build A Rocket Boy as a Cinematic Development Assistant at the age of 22 . Within this role I experienced the full Cinematic pipeline, helping the Cinematic Animation and the Cinematic Artist teams. I then moved to the Cinematic Artist role where I crafted my skills into producing high quality AAA cinematics.
I am experienced in previz, mocap shoots, mocap shoot prep, layouts, camera work, editing, lighting and all the work in-between to the final product. I also expertise in technical support for sequences, investigating issues or testing new technologies that can be used within the cinematics.
I love my role as a Cinematic Artist as Iām not creating cinematics alone, I am making them with a team - collaborating with many other departments to create cinema within games. I am passionate about creating beautiful stories and captivating moments through real time lenses.
My experience allows me to create sequences from scratch - adding and editing the mocap data, adding props, lighting, cameras and sculpting environments.
I currently work at Supermassive games as an Advanced Cinematic Artist on an unannounced title.
